Give Thanks….

Good morning everyone! In honor of WCMD, Sketch N Scrap is having Flashback Friday’s! And today, the guest designer is Hillary Harris. Here is today’s sketch #3:

And here is my take on it:

I went with some old, OLD, bo bunny chipboard frames, paired with the NEW PhotoPlay “Falling Leaves” collection.

The frames were inspired by ACOT’s Card Challenge – use a frame and at least pumpkin.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap’s blog to check out the rest of the amazing DT’s cards and hope you can play along!

Let There Be Pumpkin Spice

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap has a brand new card sketch, designed by the very talented Heather Hall.

And here is my take on it:

Instead of Halloween, I made a “fall” card, using pumpkins/leaves and papers all by PhotoPlay (Falling Leaves collection).

I added the banner to go with the ACOT Mood Board Challenge.

Hope you check out the rest of the Sketch N Scrap DT’s fabulous creations and play along!

A few layouts

Hello everyone! Been working on using up my stash – in particular that “Wild at Heart” paper pack. I am LOVING the colors!

Just for fun: Wild at Heart paper pack, butterfly punch, bling (from September Use it or Lose it)

A step back in Time: Family Heirloom paper

You’re the Best card: Family Heirloom

Fun Selfies With Momma: Wild at Heart paper pack

I Love You! Layout: Wild at Heart paper pack

I’ve got 2 weeks to go! Let’s see what else I can use up!

Book Club Gals

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap’s latest sketch is a fun one!

And here is my take on it:

I used only one photo, and created a banner for my title. Instead of journaling, I used a PL card and altered where the embellishments go.

I went with a gold/black/white color scheme to submit to ACOT’s GD Challenge #1. It worked out as I’ve pulled the “Wild at Heart” paper pack to use for October’s Use It or Lose It Challenge. The alphas, gold chevrons are by The Paper Studio (just like the paper pack). Hearts are American Crafts; puffy sticker and arrow is Heidi Swap; washi tape is Queen & Co.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap’s blog to check out the rest of the fabulous creations by the Design Team. You’ll have all month long to play along too!

Celebration – Sketch N Scrap Reveal

Good morning everyone! Today I’m back with a card that was designed by Mandy Reedyk for our month long celebration of WCMD. It has tons of potential for being rotated and its a sketch that will be used alot!

And here is my take on it:

I rotated it 90 degrees, counter clockwise. I made a birthday card, using the “Let’s Eat Cake” collection from The Paper Studio (pulled for my October Use it or Lose it challenge).

And our Flashback Friday Designer is SUSAN RENSHAW! So make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap blog to check out her card, and the other DT’s work.

Hope you can join us! TFL!🙂

Adorable Furbabies – October, Week 2

Hello everyone! Is it Friday yet? Been a real busy week with appointments and work and just having a new furbaby. This post is EXTRA adorable!🙂

With having a new furbaby, comes lots of pictures OF THAT new furbaby. LOL Last week, Jackson was still getting used to us, the house, the doggies. If he wasn’t eating or playing, he was usually napping, on or around me:

Or next to my husband:

He also just loves to chill with us too:

During the day, he is either sleeping behind my monitor or in front of it.

Last weekend, we went to PetCo and got him a new toy. Its a pet link dream curl curvy scratcher. He loves it!

He had his first appt 2 days ago. He did great! He weighs 3 lbs and is roughly 3 months old. He got his shots and will be back next month for boosters!

The best thing was he LOVES to watch youTube videos. Particulary scrappy videos.❤

And lets not forget about my other babies. Its been really hot/humid so we don’t do much outside. And with Jackson, they are more curious about him and what he’s doing too. But here are a few of my faves.

And last but not least, Miss Ruby Mae. She’s continuing to feel really good!

Until next time, bark on!🙂

Meow & Forever

Hello everyone! With my new kitty Jackson, I decided to get back to scrapping kitties. So I pulled this one photo of Athena (she belonged to my brother and sister in law) from several years ago and older stash (DCWV, TPC) and using a sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy, I came up with this:

And I stuck to the sketch pretty well:

I really loved this single photo, simple design. Very fun to use!

I combined this with ACOT’s 3 in a Row Challenge, choosing the top row (3 or more pattern papers, project life card, frame).

You’re my favorite!

Hello everyone! I’m up on the Sketches in Thyme blog today, showcasing a sketch by Bev Code:

I was instantly drawn to this sketch because of the all the mixed media. I had so much going in my brain, I ended up using a gelato, 2 Shimmerz products and modeling paste using stencils, the packaging technique and even some stamping!

And here is what the completed layout looks like:

I used papers from “Wild @ Heart” by The Paper Studio, along with bits and pieces from various manufacturers – MAMBI, The Paper Studio, Heidi Swap, American Crafts. And sequins and bling too!

The lips were fussy cut from pattern paper.

The stamped quote reads: “Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.”

For a completed list of items used, please see below:

title, chipboard heart, “perf” sticker: MAMBI
pattenr papers, paper clip, chevron stickers: The Paper Studio
stamps: Inkadinkado
sequins: Teresa Collins, Darice
gold heart: American Crafts
“beautiful day”, “go for it” stickers: Heidi Swapp
washi tape: Little B
paw print stencil: My Favorite Things
gesso: Pro-Art
dot stencil: Studio Calico
modeling paste: Liquitex
gelato: Faber-Castell
Vibez, texturez: Shimmerz
watercolor brush: Zig
bling: from stash

The pattern papers and stamps are from my October use it or lose it challenge, and the bling is from the “second chance” pile from September.

Make sure you stop by Sketches in Thyme’s blog and hope you can play along. This sketch will be featured all week.

Sketch N Scrap – Favorite Friday Card Sketch #1

Good morning everyone! Today is the first Friday of October and Sketch N Scrap has TONS of fun stuff in store for you this month! Each Friday, we’ll be doing a “flashback” series and selecting a card sketch from the past by celebrating WCMD ALL month long.

For this first Friday Flashback, Lisa Hidy chose the VERY first card sketch from May 2013:

And here is my take on it:

I loved this sketch so much, I know I’ll be making many more cards in the near future using it!

I used the Basic Grey “25th & Pine” collection.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap’s blog to check out the DT’s work! Hope you can play along with us.

Adorable Furbabies – October, Week One

Hello everyone! It has been a very busy week in “adorable furbabies” and we have a new furry addition too! But before we get to him, here’s a few pics from last weekend:

Miss Penny Lane had her wellness exam/shots on Saturday and again, she did great! All of her tests came back negative and she weighs 52.4 lbs! Healthy & Happy!🙂

Ruby Mae continues to feel good! She’s loving enjoying the sun and rolling around her back, and being silly!

So…you remember that “new furry addition” I mentioned? Well..its not another puppy…but a baby kitty! And his name is Jackson!

When Ruby woke me up Tuesday morning, I took them out back like I always do. The moment I did that, all three RAN to the swing and started barking and going crazy. I was like what is going on?? Then I see something furry and something small ON TOP of the swing. I sent the dogs inside, shut the doggie door and grabbed a towel (in case he was injured or wet). I then grabbed the step ladder and managed to get a closer look. It was a little kitty!!! I managed to grab him and wrapped him in the towel. I checked him over and found no blood, no cuts and no bumps. I went inside and grabbed him some water. He didn’t want it. I put him in the bathroom while I ran to the store to get kitty food. Both dry and a few little cans, along with litterbox, scooper and kitty litter.

I managed to talk to some of my neighbors on my cul de sac and he didn’t belong to them. We think he might have came from the street behind us. Not sure as no one has claimed him.

He eats great, and already knows how to use his litter box. He is already attached to me – screams if he can’t see me. He hisses at the puppies if they come closer than a foot in front of him. Ruby Mae is doing the best – but I’m not surprised. She lived with a few kitties. And Jeffrey is cool with him too….he does get jealous, but he’s getting better. Penny is the one we have to be careful with. She still wants to “grab” at him. It’ll take some work with her..but its only been 48 hrs.

So without further ado…..say hello to Jackson!
