You can do anything…

Good morning everyone! I can’t believe its March 1st! Boy is time flying by fast or what!

Anyways, I have a wonderful sketch to share with you from Sketch N Scrap, designed by Lisa Hidy:

march-1st-layout

It has room for FIVE pics! And surprisingly…that’s how many I used on my layout!

you-can-do-anything

I moved things around a bit. I started with the hexagon pattern paper and fussy cut the edge. I used black cardstock for my base and photo mats to make everything POP! The borders, the title and the washi tape is from the same collection as the hexagon pattern paper – RECOLLECTION “Color Splash”.

The die cuts are from 2 cartridges. I used “Paper Doll Dress Up” for the palm tree; and “Cricut Font & Basic Shapes” for the little flowers. These are the 2 cartridges I pulled for my March Cricut challenge to myself.

I chose to use flowers and the palm tree because not only do they go with the collection/photos, but that is what I’m challenging everyone to use at ACOT for my March Die Cut Challenge.

Hope you can join me at both ACOT and Sketch N Scrap to play along! You have until March 31st for all entries!

TFL! 🙂

Layout: Captain Hook

I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my step-son as Captain Hook for a while, ever since I got the Cricut Cartridge “Paper Doll Dress Up”. It had a pirate in there, along with the accessories – mustache, hook, knife, and skull with crossbones. I tend to struggle with die cuts as I’m still new to using the Cricut Expression 2 machine. But with the help of Sketch-N-Scrap’s #50 sketch, I am quite pleased in how my layout turned out.

Captain Hook

I used Bo Bunny for the background, and the rest of the paper is from Basic Grey, along with the chipboard title. I used cardstock to cut out all the die cuts – pirate boy, skulls with cross bones in the corner and the “arrgh!” statement.

Layout: A Summer Pool Party

Sketch-N-Scrap has a new sketch and I felt it was perfect with some summer doggie pool pictures paired with the die cut challenge over at ACOT.

Here’s the sketch:

And here is my layout:

A Summer Pool Party

Little Bit is cooling off his feet (he’s not too fond of the water) and Ruby likes to ‘bite’ the water. LOL. I struggled getting these photos scrapped because I didn’t want all my doggie summer pics to look the same. Sketch-N-Scrap sketch #41 helped me in the design, and ACOT’s Die Cut Challenge helped me tie it all together. The challenge was to use 3 summer-related die cuts, including the word “Summer” somewhere’s. With receiving a Cricut Expression 2 for Christmas just last year, I do not have very many cartridges. I came across “H2O”, and when I saw there was a pool die cut, I knew I had to have it! I was able to get it digitally thru the CCR. I also used the cartridge to cut out the sun. The butterflies are from the Paper Pups cartridge; and the title is using “Opposites Attract” cartridge.

At first I thought it was done, but decided to use a small paw print stamp to stamp across the white band of the die cut pool, and added little Twinkle Drops from Queen & Co. I think that all helped tie the layout together.

Thanks for looking! 🙂
