Good morning everyone! Today I have the newest Sketches in Thyme sketch to share with you!
And here is my take on it:
I stayed pretty true with it, except I moved the title and removed the banner and instead used some bubble stickers. Papers/stickers/die cuts are Heidi Swapp; doily by Doodlebug; flower by Bo Bunny; veneer leaves by Freckled Fawn; meow pin by My Mind’s Eye and the alphas are from my stash.
This photo is really dear to me. Jackson was only a kitten, and he would just snuggle up close to Ruby Mae, which by now, had been diagnosed with bone cancer. She would only be here for another 3 weeks before we would have to say goodbye. I really cherish this photo.
This layout is also my example for the October Pet Challenge over at ACOT. Yes, you heard right — my example! I’m hosting it for a while, helping out the usual hostess and the prompt this month is Friendship! As you can see, Jackson and Ruby Mae fit the prompt quite well!
Hop over to the Sketches in Thyme blog and play along with not only this week’s sketch but the others ones as well for the month of October!
Hello everyone! I’m a little behind with my blog and updating as I go along this month, but its been a crazy busy one! I’ve done really well using up my stash and used a few items up from both November AND December Use it or Lose it!
Card: pre-made bow (November Use it or Lose it)
Layout: bling (different shades of purple); Heidi Swapp pattern papers; Making Memories metal words (November and December)
Layout: Making Memories metal words; green brad (December); b/w stickers from Bella Blvd (December)
Layout: Cloud 9 Design Rain Dots and pattern papers/stickers from Bella Blvd (December)
Layout: papers from Heidi Swapp (December)
I have just a few hours to use up 2 more items. Don’t think its going to happen, but still…wish me luck!
Hello everyone! I promise, last post for the day! LOL! This is another layout that I did over the weekend. It started a little different than the way it ended, but I really love how it turned out!
Its based on Lets Get Sketchy Sketch Week 3.
I actually started following the sketch…with the chicken wire template concentrated on the left of the photo. I made some rings in a darker ink and I didn’t let the ink from the stencil dry, so it got all ugly and smeared. 😦 I decided to move the photo up and layer the papers a bit more. I ended up hiding the chicken wire design, so I added it to the bottom of the papers/photos.
Next were the Heidi Swapp veneer arrows. They were all different sizes and when I saw the short one, with the circle, I first had the arrow pointing up. My friend Amanda suggested I have the arrow pointing at Penny, since Penny is watching Squirrely from the window. It was the PERFECT idea!
I also did this layout for ACOT’s Spelling Challenge and Manufacturer Challenge. This month’s Manufacturer must start with R so I chose Reminisce’s “Its a dog’s life”. And the word of the month was BIRTHDAY. Here is what is on my layout that spells out BIRTHDAY:
B = Blue background
I = Inking using stencils
R = Reminisce pattern papers
T = Tattered Angels misting
H = Heidi Swapp Veneers arrows
D = Doodlebug orange pattern paper
A = Adhesive
Y = Yellow word bubble
